I started out as a congenital heart surgeon, and after retirement, I took up photography of animals of many countries. We have been on month-long safaris in Africa 16 times (most recently in the fall of 2009), and also in Alaska, Central & South America and the Galapagos.

This site is arranged by country.  When you click a country category (or subcategory) from the menu above, you'll see a "Species Selector."  Clicking a species will start a "slide show" complete with captions.  The images will change every 10 seconds, or you can pause, skip, or randomly select photos to view from the navigation bar.  Please see the "Help" page for specific instructions.
