This image of a Serval Cat is a follow-up to the previous image. One of those birds would make it a nice meal. [Ngorogoro, Tanzania].
The Serval Cat tends to be very furtive and wary in the daytime. It does most of its hunting at night. In this daylight image, he is trying to sneak up on a Gray Heron or a Sacred Ibis (the 3 with curved beaks). See Birds: 'Ibis-Sacred' & 'Gray Heron'- [Ngorogoro, Tanzania].
Serval Cats have very large ears and their hearing is very acute. They can hear moles or mice moving around undergound. [Ngorogoro, Tanzania].
Serval Cat-Walking; Sitting-dbl image: a beautiful small cat (around 20 lbs.) about three times the size of a housecat. It is mostly nocturnal. It has incredible hearing (note big ears), said to be so acute that it can hear a mole burrowing underground!. The L image is a lateral view showing its markings; the R image is a good view of the back markings, face, and its large ears. [Khwai, Moremia NP, Botswana].
