Large groups of Sea Lionesses are often seen lying on the rocks or beach.. They aren't frightened by having people walk amongst them. However, I did experience one of them trying to nip my ankle when I stepped too close to her head. [Galapagos Islands].
Two Sea Lion bulls: The one in front is an immature. Note the distinctive prominence of the forehead of the dominant, full-grown male behind. [Galapagos Islands].
1st Image: Sea Lion bull charged out of the water and onto the rocks and 'ran' towards me as I took his picture. I had gone close to the water's edge to photograph him with three of his harem in a small pool of water. He apparently didn't like my getting so close to his girls. Fortunately, his flippered front feet slowed him down, and so I could easily outrun him. Again, note the bulging forehead characteristic of the adult male. [Galapagos Islands].
